Defiance: Raziel's Special Attacks

In Defiance Kain and Raziel started with a fairly simple range of attack moves, including a basic three-slash combo. As they progressed and fought enemies, they gained combat experience. Their level of experience was displayed by the Reaver meter on the in-game status screen, and whenever the Reaver meter filled, they would be rewarded with a new Special Attack. They could gain experience more quickly by performing complex combos (powerful combos could be created by stringing together previously-earned Special Attacks), and by fully charging the Reaver during battle.

Shown below are the Special Attacks gained by Raziel. The attack types come from the Defiance Game Manual (UK and US versions), and Raziel's descriptions come from the in-game Special Attacks status screen.

Perforate Carcass

Raziel's Description: "This technique allows me to deftly roll in past my foes defenses and deliver a series of blindingly quick lunges before they have a chance to react."
How To Use: Move + Action
Tap the movement key/button in the direction of the attack. At the same time, press the Action key/button repeatedly.
Phantasmal Tempest

Raziel's Description: "While fighting in mid-air, I have learned to limit my downward velocity momentarily by executing a devious whirlwind of brutal attacks."
How To Use: Move + Action (in mid-air)
In mid-air, tap the movement key/button in the direction of the attack. At the same time, press the Action key/button repeatedly.
Shatter Spirit
Symbol for Shatter Spirit Attack Attack Type: Devastating Strike Shatter Spirit Attack
Raziel's Description: "Applying the proper leverage I am able to execute a devilishly quick yet soul-shattering blow that leaves my target vulnerable to further assault."
How To Use: Move + Lift Attack
Tap the movement key/button in the direction of the attack, while simultaneously pressing the Lift Attack key/button.
Empyreal Rending
Symbol for Empyreal Rending Attack Attack Type: Air Strike Empyreal Rending Attack
Raziel's Description: "While fighting in mid-air, I am able to slam the Reaver into my opponent causing them to hit the ground below and then bounce back within my reach."
How To Use: Move + Lift Attack (in mid-air)
In mid-air, tap the movement key/button in the direction of the attack, while simultaneously pressing the Lift Attack key/button.
Stasis Field
Symbol for Stasis Field Attack Attack Type: Telekinetic Stasis Stasis Field Attack
Raziel's Description: "Perfecting my newly heightened powers of telekinesis I have learned to hold my enemies momentarily in the air with reinforced bonds of force."
How To Use: Move + Telekinesis
Tap the movement key/button in the direction of the attack, while simultaneously pressing the Telekinesis key/button.
