The following locations appeared in Soul Reaver.

The Abyss was located in the Lake of the Dead. It was the place of execution for "traitors and weaklings" in Kain's empire. The water burned the vampires like strong acid burns humans, so the death caused by this place was slow, torturous and final.

The place had been "impenetrably sealed" but now "ravaged by Nosgoth's upheavals, its mysteries lay exposed." Raziel was not prepared for the revelation awaiting him within.

Raziel found the ruins of the Retreat. It was overrun by Melchiah's clan. Most of the skull had fallen from the cliff top, and the waterfall appeared to have long since dried up. The Stone Glyph altar was concealed in the area surrounding the ancient landmark.

The Chronoplast device once belonged to Moebius, and it was built into a large room with multiple tiers. On each tier there were several clockwork mechanisms. By manipulating these mechanisms, the Chronoplast could create portals into Nosgoth's past and future.

The Fire Forge was concealed beneath the Drowned Abbey. It was designed to enhance the Soul Reaver. When Raziel bathed the wraith-blade in the flames of the forge, he created the 'Fire Reaver'.
