Raziel learned that he had been delivered into Nosgoth's history. The time period he now inhabited was thirty years prior to Kain's refusal at the Pillars. Moebius offered to help Raziel find and destroy Kain, their common foe.

When Raziel entered the subterranean Pillars chamber, the Elder God was waiting for him. Raziel was no longer interested in the Elder God's plans for him - he wanted to learn about his role in Nosgoth's destiny for himself.

Raziel found Ariel lamenting her fate, bitter at Kain for turning his back on the Pillars and her by continuing to live. Consciously he had kept her trapped, and her wrath was directed at him alone. Raziel found himself debating Kain's guilt with her.

Raziel reached the Termogent Forest swamp, and spied Vorador on a balcony. Vorador was waiting to converse with Raziel once he exited the Dark Forge.

Janos was a striking winged individual, very different from the demonic creature legend had taught Raziel to expect. Janos knew Raziel, and had long awaited his arrival.

Raziel was trapped in a room by Moebius and Malek. Vorador arrived at the Sarafan Stronghold while Raziel was being detained. Malek heard the cries for help, but Moebius would not allow him to leave.

Raziel saw the mural commemorating the human Melchiah's martyrdom in the Sarafan Stronghold. When he ventured further into the past, he saw that Melchiah had actually been a Sarafan Inquisitor, one of the Order's elite.

When Raziel travelled back in time to meet Janos Audron, he encountered the living Zephon. Zephon was one of the five Sarafan Inquisitors who broke into Janos' aerie and murdered him.

Raziel saw the human Rahab's portrait in the Sarafan Stronghold. Each man honoured in the chapter house had unique armour, but Rahab's stood out. His breastplate was decorated with seahorses.

When Raziel travelled back further in time, he encountered the living Dumah: a Sarafan Inquisitor. He was a member of the hunting party that murdered Janos Audron. Dumah stole the Reaver as they fled from Janos' collapsing aerie.

The human Turel had been a Sarafan Inquisitor, second-in-command to the human Raziel. Using Moebius' staff, Turel incapacitated Janos, while the Sarafan Raziel killed the Ancient Vampire.
